So the last week or so has been one that everyone knew was coming for a long time. We swore in a new President. Just as we have many other times and many people are happy and many are not. Regardless of what side you fall on, one thing is clear, we are all in this together.  With that said, it would be refreshing to see people truly make an effort to be nicer to each other, put political opinions aside, put race issues aside (which really should be referred to as prejudice since their is only 1 race that I know exist, and that is the human race) but regardless. Everytime someone new is elected they come with their own agenda, ideas and plans. Very few of them ever really benefit the people like us that work for a living, pay taxes, and worry about providing a life for us and our families.

There are a couple of things I will say about President Trump and what I hope happens. First, like it or not, he is the President and just like with President Bush and Obama before him, I may not like what they bring to the table but I can only hope that the decisons made help us and dont makethings harder on us, small businesses, and our military. I hope that someone will look very closely at the proposed regulations set in place by the FDA and that they get reversed. Otherwise the hobby we all love and enjoy will be drastically impacted.

That said, I hope you will look up the movie Handrolled that is being made to highlight the industry and shine light on how these regulations will impact the industry across the globe. Please spread the word and share anything you find about it.

On another note, I am hoping to be back and doing reviews shortly. Between sinus issues and computer issues, I have been out for a bit. I am looking for suggestions on cigars you would like to see reviewed. Cant promise I will get them all but I can certainly try. Please leave them in the comment section.

One final thought. As a member of the cigar community I can honestly say that cigar people are some of the nicest, most generous, thoughtful people I have ever met. Think about that for a minute. When we see cigar pics and post online we like them, support them and comment on them. We don’t judge who post it. Their color, gender, beliefs, and flaws dont matter to us. We just support each other. How many of you sit in a lounge and have conversations with total strangers over a cigar? How many of you have gotten or sent a cigar bomb to a brother or sister of the leaf that you never met in person? How many of you have friends amd followers that you communicate with more online than people in your own family? My point is that with all the chaos and uncertainty in the world and right here in this country, one thing stands true. The cigar community supports each other and we all share the same love and passion for a very simple thing. Cigars are not super complicated. They are made of all the same things,  although every single one is different, at the end of the day, they represent a different type of follower. We all hold ourselves to a different standard when we are amongst other cigar smokers. There is something special about that. We are united by the leaf and the tradition that came before us and has been handed down from generation to generation. How many times do you see fights in a cigar bar? Many of them serve alcohol, but its a different crowd with a different purpose. If we could, as a nation, show each other the same kind of respect, where we are today as a country would be totally different. A better place for everyone for sure.

No matter what side of politics you fall on, here, you are friends and family. I welcome all of you and I look forward to a great year of reviews and sharing information and experiences with all of you. Politics will never go away. It will forever be a part of this natuon and the world. Its up to us to rise above the issues and come together…united. Remember fam, Untied we Stand, Divided we Fall.
